Welcome to the World of Jazz blog

On a whim, during the Covid-19 lockdown, I have rashly decided to try and tell the history of jazz from a unique non-American standpoint, tracing its development in countries all round the world.

For further excuses about why I’m somewhat sidelining the home of jazz in a story of the music, you can read this weak justification.

About Me

So why me? I have worked in jazz for more than 10 years, organising international projects and programming one of the world’s leading jazz clubs. As a result, I have become convinced that there is a wealth of exciting jazz talent to be found in every corner of the world from London to Lusaka, Shanghai to Sidney. I hope to prove that here, before I run out of steam…

You can find out more about me at my ‘professional’ website here, or on my blog here. You might also like my other lockdown project – the Art of Song website.
